Excellence in Construction Awards - A CSR Commitment to Sustainability
Company: QP
Type: CSR Event
Event Date: February 2025
Attendees: 300+
Venue: Grandmasters Palace, Valletta
Last month, ECMeetings had the privilege of event managing a remarkable occasion for QP at the newly restored Grand Master’s Palace in Valletta. Proudly dominating St George’s Square, this 450-year-old landmark has long been a centre of power and a national symbol.
The first building constructed by the Knights of St John in Valletta, the Palace evolved over centuries into a seat of governance. During the British period, it served as the Governor’s Palace and later housed Malta’s first constitutional parliament in 1921. Today, it remains a prestigious venue as the Office of the President of Malta, providing a fitting backdrop for an evening dedicated to honouring the future of construction in Malta.
The event, a key initiative within QP’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, celebrated the launch of the inaugural Excellence in Construction Awards (XCA). This ceremony recognised contractors who are leading the way in sustainable construction, regulatory compliance, safety standards, and innovative environmental solutions. More than just an awards night, the event served as a powerful statement of intent—showcasing leadership in promoting quality, sustainability, and progress in the building industry.
With over 300 distinguished guests in attendance, including industry professionals and policymakers, the evening underscored the importance of collaboration in raising industry standards. QP CEO Reuben Xuereb encapsulated this vision, stating, “Our goal is to set a new benchmark for a sustainable and inspiring Malta.”
Beyond celebrating excellence, the event also highlighted a strong commitment to giving back to the community. Hosted in the President’s Palace, the evening included a meaningful contribution to the Malta Community Chest Fund, reinforcing the importance of social responsibility alongside environmental and industry advancements.
This event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the construction sector in Malta, setting a precedent for future editions of the Excellence in Construction Awards. With a shared vision for innovation and sustainability, the industry is taking significant steps toward a better-built future for Malta.
We at ECMeetings are proud to have been part of this prestigious event, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for all involved. We look forward to supporting more initiatives that bring positive change to industries and communities alike.
